Training:
  • Any weekday 9am - 1pm

Responsibilities:
  • The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists in providing clinical services in a unique retail setting.
  • Under the supervision, the LPN will assist with greeting patients, taking vital, completes accurate patient documentation via computerized charting, as well as duties such as supply ordering, inventory and weekly patient logs.

Quality Patient Care

  • Collects a focused history and takes vital signs per clinical guidelines.
  • Performs requested Point of Care Tests and vaccine administration per regulations and under direct supervision of MC Practitioner.
  • Demonstrates courteous and professional manner toward the public and with MC Providers and other related store associates.
  • Responds to patients/customers needs.
  • Focuses on retaining current patients and attracting new clients.

Record Keeping
  • Requires patient or parent to sign consent.
  • Accurately inputs patient s demographic information, insurance, and payment information into the computer program.
  • If computer is down then utilizes the paper charts for demographics, SOAP charting and receipt.
  • Correctly utilizes credit card machine including settling the machine at closing.
  • Uses an insurance and paper scanner as needed.
  • Documents use of supplies.
  • Assists in completion of inventory on the designated inventory day at the end of the month.

Marketing
  • Explains services, benefits and fees to the general public and retail employees who visit the clinic.
  • Explains services, benefits and fees to friends, family and the medical community.
  • Keeps brochure holders full at the clinic.

Clinic Environment
  • Keeps the clinic clean and uncluttered.
  • Informs on site provider of any need for repairs to clinic or equipment.
  • Follows universal precautions in cleaning up or disposing of any blood of body fluids.
  • Returns all resources back to original place, which is consistent in every clinic.
  • Does not eat or drink in the clinic.
  • Does not conduct personal business while in the clinic.

Experience:
  • Minimum of one year related work experience to include working with an Electronic Medical Record, taking vital signs and performing Point of Care Testing.
  • The Licensed Practical Nurse is a graduate of a school of Practical or Vocational Nursing, approved by the State Agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing (Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)) at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
  • The LPN/LVN must have a full, active and unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia.
