Job Description


Summary:  Works independently, as well as collaboratively with team members to design, build, enhance and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Translates application requirements, backlogs, and use cases into functional applications.
  • Ensures the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Helps maintain and improve code quality and organization by following and participating in the evolution of departmental coding standards.
  • Takes a product through the entire software development lifecycle of analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support.
  • Perform unit and system-level testing on applications, as well as the support of user testing.
  • Collaborates with various teams and team members on projects.

  • Demonstrated experience in VB 3.0+
  • Demonstrated experience with recent releases of Microsoft SQL Server and database design
  • Demonstrated experience with revision/source control and management tools such as TFS, Subversion or GIT along with solid code management practices
  • Strong understanding of design practices, design documentation, and application architecture
  • An appreciation of and experience in continuous integration
  • Ability to document, develop, test, implement and support solutions
  • Ability to work independently based on program specifications and interact in a collaborative team setting
  • Ability to document processes and procedures for future reference

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or four or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
