Licensed Pharmacist Highlights
- Pay:$64.27 per hour, On-call rate of $75 per diem and $75 per dispensing call
• Shift/Days: As-needed basis
- 2–4 weekend shifts per month
- 3–4 on-call evenings per week
• Weekend Hours: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
• Weekday Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• On-Call Coverage: After-hours when pharmacy is closed (6:00 PM – 10:00 AM)
• Worker Location Type: Onsite
• Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Responsibilities
- Accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with federal and state laws
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns
• Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patient use
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation
• Advise patients on medication usage, dosage, storage, side effects, and potential drug interactions
• Provide consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications
• Deliver patient care services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
• Compound medications for internal and external use; non-sterile compounding preferred
• Prepare sterile solutions following established pharmacy procedures when applicable
• Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians, clerks, and interns
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, interns, and clinical staff
• Provide on-call and overnight pharmacy coverage as scheduled
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
• ActiveLicensed Pharmacistcredential in the state of Wisconsin
• Experience with non-sterile compounding preferred
• Prior experience with on-call, evening, or overnight pharmacy shifts preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
