Aerospace Project Manager
Position Summary
The Aerospace Project Manager is responsible for managing aerospace tooling and manufacturing projectsfrom initial kickoff through successful completion. This position serves as the primary point of contact forcustomers and coordinates cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget,and in accordance with customer requirements and aerospace quality standards.
Responsibilities
Manage aerospace tooling and manufacturing projects from kickoff through completion.
Serve as the primary point of contact for aerospace customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
Coordinate activities between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Production.
Monitor project performance, budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful execution.
Lead customer meetings and provide regular project status updates.
Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions.
Review engineering changes and evaluate their impact on schedule, cost, resources, and projectscope.
Ensure projects meet customer requirements, specifications, and applicable aerospace qualitystandards.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, records, schedules, and reports.
Communicate project priorities, changes, and deadlines effectively across departments.
Assist with resolving production, quality, scheduling, and customer-related issues.
Track project progress and proactively communicate potential delays or concerns.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, including tooling, fabrication,machining, and assembly.
Experience working within an AS9100 quality management system.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and customerexpectations.
Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and customer relationship skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
Experience with ERP systems and project management software preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalentindustry experience will be considered.
Preferred Experience
Aerospace tooling or fixture manufacturing.
CNC machining and fabrication environments.
Experience managing customer-driven engineering changes.
Experience with aerospace OEM or Tier 1/Tier 2 customers.
Experience with project costing, quoting, and budget tracking.
Familiarity with AS9100D, customer-specific requirements, and aerospace documentation practices.
