Scientist, Analytical Chemistry Development
Location: Vernon Hills, IL
Pay Rate: $35.79/hour
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 days onsite
Work Setting: 100% Onsite
Position Overview
The Scientist, Analytical Chemistry Development provides analytical chemistry support for chemistry-related projects involving products currently on the market as well as new product development. This position also supports stability testing programs and, as needed, the development and validation of analytical methods for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished product release testing.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical chemistry background within the pharmaceutical industry, hands-on laboratory experience with techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, pH, and titration, and experience working under FDA/GMP requirements. Candidates should also be comfortable writing scientific protocols and reports and collaborating with Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, or a related scientific discipline.
Experience
- 2–4 years of pharmaceutical analytical chemistry experience required.
- Hands-on experience with wet chemistry and instrumental analytical techniques, such as:
- pH
- Titration
- UV-Vis
- GC
- HPLC
- Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment.
- Experience with GMP documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemistry and analytical performance testing.
- Conduct data review and data entry.
- Generate laboratory protocols and technical reports.
- Support stability testing programs for product and process changes.
- Assist with development and validation of analytical methodologies.
- Perform testing of incoming raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Troubleshoot laboratory issues and identify appropriate solutions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, documentation, and general laboratory organization.
- Follow applicable GMP and FDA-regulated documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with Regulatory, Manufacturing, Quality, and other functional teams.
- Communicate scientific strategies, results, and findings effectively.
- Prepare clear and accurate scientific protocols and reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
