Bankruptcy Specialist Compensation

• The pay for this position is $20 per hour

• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment

• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Bankruptcy Specialist Highlights

• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs

• Flexible schedule: Hybrid model, 4 days or less in the office (on-site required for the first few weeks for training)

• The required availability for this position is Monday through Friday, standard business hours

Bankruptcy Specialist Responsibilities

• Monitor loans in bankruptcy to ensure debtors comply with bankruptcy plans

• Ensure CCO Mortgage adheres to investor, state, federal, and bankruptcy court guidelines and timeframes

• Work with departments such as foreclosure, loss mitigation, escrow analysis, taxes, and insurance to communicate bankruptcy status

• File Proof of Claims (POC) and handle all aspects of the bankruptcy process according to investor guidelines

• Serve as the primary point of contact for bankruptcy attorneys and customers in bankruptcy

• Use LoanSphere for document preparation and Quality Control (QC)

• Manage a queue of loans and perform tasks including referrals to attorneys, payment changes, post-petition notices, and cost notices

• Ensure compliance with state and federal bankruptcy laws to avoid sanctions

Bankruptcy Specialist Requirements

• 1-3 years of bankruptcy knowledge, including familiarity with Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13

• Experience reviewing bankruptcy plans, schedules, lien scripts, and cramdowns

• Familiarity with MSP, LoanSphere, and working with bankruptcy attorneys

• Ability to perform accounting reconciliations

• High School Diploma or GED

• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days

Bankruptcy Specialist Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Clarifier (transferable skills)

• Direct bankruptcy experience (not loss mitigation)

• Understanding of motions for relief, cramdowns, and related concepts
