Behavioral Health Specialist - Juvenile Corrections Compensation

• Pay Rate $42 per hour

Behavioral Health Specialist - Juvenile Corrections  Highlights

• On-call work required during weekends and holidays: Will need to check in at 10:00 AM to assess if any individuals are on suicide watch, and go onsite if needed.
• Hours per week will vary based on facility needs and coverage requirements.

Behavioral Health Specialist - Juvenile Corrections  Responsibilities

• Suicide & Mental Health Risk Assessment: Assess the risk of suicide and mental health stability for incarcerated juveniles.
• Biopsychosocial Assessments: Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments for incarcerated youth involved in legal proceedings.
• Clinical Decision-Making: Make informed clinical decisions regarding treatment status and needs.
• Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation thoroughly and accurately.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Behavioral Health Services (BHS) team to facilitate seamless service delivery.
• On-Call Coverage: Provide on-call coverage during weekends and holidays as coordinated with BHS. May require going onsite depending on facility needs.

Behavioral Health Specialist - Juvenile Corrections  Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Clinical experience in assessing suicidal clients and conducting biopsychosocial assessments, specifically with youth in a correctional or similar environment.
• Licensure: One of the following independent licenses:
• Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• Continuing Education: Completion of continuing professional education for license renewal, in compliance with the Ohio Revised Code.

Behavioral Health Specialist - Juvenile Corrections  Unusual Working Conditions

• Exposure to potentially violent clients.
• Exposure to unusual noise, odors, or contagious diseases within the correctional setting.

• Position Type: Part-time, contract role (hours negotiable).
