Benefits Customer Service Rep Compensation
- The pay for this position is $17 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Benefits Customer Service Rep Highlights
- This is a customer service position that specializes in educating customers on benefits for a managed healthcare/health insurance company
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
- This position is remote/WFH!
- The only onsite days would be the first day or if you're having internet issues at home
Benefits Customer Service Rep Responsibilities
- Quickly build rapport and respond to plan participants in a compassionate manner by identifying and exceeding expectations by responding in a respectful accurate timely manner consistently meeting commitments via phone email and instant message
- Ability to customize customer service approach to meet all types of communication styles and personalities while maintaining professionalism and diplomacy during difficult calls
- Handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion in accordance with HIPAA and Data Privacy laws and company data security requirements
- Skillfully translate health and welfare and pension terms complex plan information and processes into simple explanations and instructions that customers can understand and act upon
- Read and understand clients plan documents and online knowledge-based tools while collecting relevant information to determine immediate requests/questions and also to anticipate the future needs of the member
- Demonstrate knowledge understanding and compliance with company and client procedures and guidelines providing appropriate and accurate information
- Maintain and document complete and accurate call and case notes in a professional manner
- Regularly participate in team meetings and training
- Perform other duties as assigned
Benefits Customer Service Rep Requirements
- Must be local and able to commute to Richardson, TX for the first day!
- 1+ years’ experience in customer service in managed healthcare/health insurance
- Must have experience in a call center environment or with managing high-volume inbound phone calls in a remote environment
- Must having a typing speed of at least 30 wpm
- Must have a working knowledge of health and welfare and/or defined benefit pension plans
- High School Diploma or GED
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Benefits Customer Service Rep Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred (pay increase of $0.75!)
- Associates or bachelor’s degree is a plus
