Boiler Technician - 1st Shift

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Boiler Technician to join our team on the 1st shift. This hourly role involves monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining a variety of plant equipment, including boilers, water systems, steam distribution, hydraulics, and pneumatics. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, adaptability, and a commitment to ensuring optimal plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment, including steam distribution systems, boilers, potable water systems, and pumping systems.
- Perform maintenance tasks involving basic electrical systems, fluid power, mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of system logs and readings.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Assist engineers and contractors with projects as required.
- Participate in relevant meetings concerning the boiler, hot water systems, filtration, and air compressors.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Work independently without supervision and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Licensing: Must hold a City of Omaha 3rd Grade Engineer’s License.
- Experience: At least one (1) year of maintenance work experience OR completion of an industrial maintenance training program (a combination of employers is acceptable). Must have Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and understand technical and training manuals; strong communication skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, and reach throughout the shift.
- Comfortable climbing stairs and ladders.
