Title: Business Analyst V

 

Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)

 

Note: This is a W2 contract role – C2C, 1099, & 3 rd party candidates WILL NOT be considered

 

The Business Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure alignment on goals, while translating complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language for both technical and non-technical audiences. The Business Analyst will;

 

  • Lead discussions with developers and architects to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical limitations, ensuring that the right solutions are implemented
  • Collaborate closely with development, quality assurance, and infrastructure teams to ensure business needs are understood, technical solutions are aligned, and software is delivered on time and within scope
  • Analyze raw data gathered by the project team and apply the appropriate tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights and drive decision-making
  • Determine whether to build a custom solution or purchase off-the-shelf software based on business needs and technical feasibility
  • Assess when to modernize legacy systems, integrate existing solutions, or build entirely new applications, considering the business context and technical landscape
  • Lead initiatives by managing cross-functional teams, ensuring successful project delivery on time and within scope, while mentoring junior BAs by sharing best practices and providing guidance to support their professional growth and success

 

Position Qualifications:

 

  • 15+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a proven track record ofunderstanding business processes and their requirements
  • 10+ years of experience eliciting business requirements and translating them into detailed technical design documents in partnership with application and solution architects, guiding the design and development of large-scale application projects
  • Skilled in identifying gaps in existing software systems and designing solutions that meet business needs, such as building new features, integrating third-party applications, or enhancing legacy systems; expertise in reviewing technical designs and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to established quality standards
  • Ability to break down complex business requirements into actionable tasks for development teams, while ensuring that technical constraints and limitations are considered
  • Strongexperience in responsive design application development, with a focus on creating human-centric design solutions
  • Strongexperience working in Agile or Hybrid environments (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), translating business needs into user stories for IT development teams, with familiarity in other SDLC methodologies, such as Waterfall
  • Knowledgeable about current software development best practices, including Agile, DevOps, and modern programming languages and framework
  • Proficiency using process modeling tools for creating flowcharts, data models, and business process diagrams
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, including cloud computing, APIs, middleware, and other technical solutions that could impact software development choices, including legacy, core, and emerging technologies, as well as business process mapping and re-engineering techniques
  • A solidunderstanding of how software applications integrate with other enterprise systems and databases, enabling the creation of cohesive and scalable solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical teams (developers, testers, architects) and business stakeholders (product owners, project managers, executives), ensuring clearunderstanding of business needs and technical capabilities
  • Stronganalytical skills to assess complex business issues, propose effective solutions, and make data-driven decisions under pressure
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or other relevant field
