Job Description
Pharmacy Tech I – Prior Authorization (Remote)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST (training + ongoing schedule)
Pay: $20.00/hour (W2)
Type: Contract
Overview
We’re hiring Pharmacy Technicians to support a high-volume prior authorization process. In this role you’ll take inbound calls from members and providers, review submitted clinical documentation for completeness, document determinations, and route clinical judgment items to a pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound calls from members, providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Guide callers through the criteria-based prior authorization process with strong customer service
- Review clinical documentation for completeness and eligibility based on established criteria
- Document approvals/denials accurately and timely
- Escalate clinical judgment calls/complex inquiries to the pharmacist
- Maintain compliance with required protocols and documentation standards
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year experience as a Pharmacy Technician (administrative support, call center, or similar)
- High-volume customer service / call center experience (1+ year) preferred (healthcare strongly preferred)
- Verifiable High School Diploma or GED
- Strong computer skills (word processing + spreadsheets)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Pharmacy Tech license/certification preferred (and eligibility for registration/licensure per state regulations)
Training / Class Details
- Class start: October 12, 2026
- Training runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST (no training on 11/26)
