Position: Merchandising Category Analyst

Location: Woonsocket, RI (Must be available 3 days a week, Mon-Fri, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST Timezone with some flexibility)

Role: The Merchandising Category Analyst will be pivotal in our Category Management team, responsible for both day-to-day operational tasks and contributing to strategic endeavors. This role is designed to facilitate category-specific decision-making aimed at bolstering sales, profitability, and market dominance. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of three to five years' experience in analytical roles within the consumer goods or retail sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operational activities within the Category Management team.
• Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to category-level decision-making processes to enhance sales and profitability.
• Foster vendor relationships through effective communication and negotiation.
• Utilize data analysis to inform business strategies and initiatives.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant technologies.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a category analyst or category merchant role.
• Proficiency in vendor negotiations and buying processes.
• Strong background in category analyst/CPG roles.
• Skilled in data analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Periscope, Microstrategy, SAP, One Note, or similar tools is advantageous.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong analytical acumen.
• Prior experience in ordering preferred.
