Child Life Specialist I

Pay: $25.00

Hours: Flexible scheduled shifts, approximately 20–30 hours per week

Location:

Houston, TX (Onsite)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) to join our pediatric support team. In this role, you will provide and promote effective coping strategies for pediatric patients through play, preparation, education, and self-expression activities in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess pediatric patients within 24 hours of admission or consult
  • Develop and implement psychosocial care plans tailored to medical and developmental needs
  • Provide therapeutic play and psychological preparation to reduce stress and increase understanding of the healthcare experience
  • Create a safe, supportive, and healing environment for patients and families
  • Participate in special events and programs for pediatric patients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support holistic care

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach

Interview Process:

  • Initial phone or virtual interview
  • Final panel interview (virtual or onsite in Houston, TX)
