Certified Medical Assistant Job Description:
Under direct supervision, the Certified Medical Assistant assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. The role supports efficient patient flow, performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., exams, vitals), and manages routine administrative duties such as scheduling, clerical support, and phone triage. This is a temporary assignment to cover a maternity leave.

Certified Medical Assistant Schedule & Location:
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Onsite, Lewisville TX 75057 United States
• Target onboarding date: July 14th

Certified Medical Assistant Salary/Wage:
• $18 – $20 per hour, based on experience

Certified Medical Assistant Duties:
• Room patients and escort them to/from exam rooms and treatment areas
• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication updates before each visit
• Perform blood draws (preferred but not required)
• Handle administrative tasks such as phone calls, chart preparation, filing, and scheduling

Certified Medical Assistant Required Qualifications:
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is required and non-negotiable
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a medical assistant
• Willing to consider mid- or senior-level candidates

Certified Medical Assistant Physical Requirements:
• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Must have manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods
• Occasionally lifts items up to 40 lbs
• Requires normal vision and hearing (corrected if needed)

Certified Medical Assistant Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Certification options include (but are not limited to):
 – Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
 – Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – AMT (American Medical Technologists)
 – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing)
 – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – NHA (National Healthcareer Association)
 – Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) – NHA
• Having one of these certifications is mandatory and non-negotiable
