Job Description
Now Hiring: Medical Assistant
Pay: $18.00–$18.50
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join a busy oncology practice. This role supports physicians and clinical staff by providing exceptional patient care while ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients and record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication updates
- Assist physicians with examinations and procedures
- Perform phlebotomy and administer injections as directed
- Prepare and stock exam rooms while maintaining infection control standards
- Schedule appointments, diagnostic tests, referrals, and follow-up visits
- Answer patient calls, assist with prescription requests, and complete administrative tasks
- Support patient education and maintain accurate medical records
- Assist with insurance authorizations, referrals, and obtaining outside medical records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Current CPR certification required
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
