Certified Medical Assistant Highlights

• The pay for this position is $17.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
• Onsite position
• This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment areas as appropriate
• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication updates prior to each physician visit
• Retrieve necessary patient records for physician review prior to procedures or treatment
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms; order supplies as needed
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated
• Disinfect and maintain exam/treatment rooms according to protocol
• Answer patient calls and route appropriately to physician, nurse, or pharmacist
• Phone in prescriptions and make patient calls under physician or RN direction
• Notify physician of patient reschedules or no-shows
• Perform clerical tasks such as typing, filing, faxing, chart prep, and reception duties
• May enter medical orders under provider supervision

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant required
• Current BCLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire)
• CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) certification required
