Job Description
Join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant in Salem, VA! In this role, you will provide vital support in a clinical setting by assisting physicians with patient care, performing administrative duties, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked and sanitized. You’ll work closely with patients, recording their medical information, taking vital signs, and assisting with procedures. This is a 3+ month position with the potential for permanent placement. Ideal candidates will have medical experience (CNA, CMA, CCMA, or Phlebotomist) and a passion for patient care.
Certified Medical Assistant Schedule & Location:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Location: Salem, VA 24153, United States
Certified Medical Assistant Salary/Wage:
$16–$18/hour depending on experience.
Certified Medical Assistant Duties:
- Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs and recording medical information.
- Assist physicians with exams, procedures, and patient documentation.
- Administer injections under the supervision of a physician or RN.
- Maintain and stock exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
- Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling, chart preparation, and prescription follow-ups.
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing inquiries or directing them to appropriate staff.
Certified Medical Assistant Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred).
- 0–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant (entry-level role).
- Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
- Compliance with any state-required certifications for Medical Assistants.
