Job Overview:

Under direct supervision, the Certified Medical Assistant will support physicians and clinical staff in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This position plays a vital role in patient flow, clinical support, and administrative tasks, while adhering to the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Escort patients to/from exam rooms, treatment rooms, and physician offices

• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and update medications before provider visits

• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms; maintain disinfection protocols

• Assist providers during exams and procedures

• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections under supervision

• Retrieve and organize patient records prior to appointments

• Perform clerical tasks: schedule coordination, chart prep, reception, faxing, etc.

• Answer patient phone calls and route messages appropriately

• Phone in prescriptions as directed by providers

• Report patient no-shows and reschedules

• Enter provider orders under supervision (as directed)

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

• CMA or CCMA certification required

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant

• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire

• Strong communication and multitasking skills in a clinical setting
