Certified Medical Coder (Outpatient and Emergency Department) Compensation

• The pay for this position is $36.00 - $38.00 per hour
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

• Medical coding in an acute care setting

Certified Medical Coder (Outpatient and Emergency Department) Requirements

• Must possess proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, ICD 9 CM, CPT 4, Encoder);
• Knowledge of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, federal billing guidelines; knowledge of anatomy, physiology & disease processes; ability to research coding related issues; competence in coder training;
• Must have CCS and knowledgeable with 3M/HDS coding application.
• Outpatient and ED experience
• AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT and/or CCP, CCS
• High School Diploma or GED
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
