Chemotherapy Infusion RN Location details and Compensation:

• Location: 100% on site and possibly floating between locations San Antonio, TX
• Payrate: $35.00 - $45.00 p/hr **Based on licensure/certifications and experience** (Weekly Pay)
• M-F 8am - 5pm CST
• Temporary position a minimum of 3 months with possibility to extend

What does the Chemotherapy Infusion RN do?

• Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material.
• Prepares and administers therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
• Administers all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique.
• Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
• Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
• Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices.
• Maintains accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
• Perform lab testing in the Core Lab, and report results according to SOP.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment.
• Perform quality control tasks and maintain laboratory documentation according to SOP.
• Maintain and manage laboratory supplies.
• Provide laboratory information to others on the patient care team.

Chemotherapy Infusion RN Qualifications/Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
• RN state license and current registration with the Texas State Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Oncology Certified or Biotherapy Certified
• Chemotherapy experience required
• Infusion experience required
• 1+ years of Oncology RN experience required
