Clinic Registered Nurse
Job Summary
• Responsible for supporting clinic operations by maintaining patient and provider flow
• Provides direct nursing support within the urology clinic setting
• Delivers high quality patient care within the scope of the professional nursing license
• Assists clinic providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient communication
• Ensures accurate documentation, specimen handling, and medication administration as ordered
Key Responsibilities
• Provide nursing coverage in the urology clinic
• Assist providers with patient examinations and clinic based procedures
• Manage patient phone calls including triage and follow up
• Maintain accurate and timely patient medical records and documentation
• Collect, prepare, and process patient specimens according to clinic protocols
• Administer medications as prescribed by the provider
• Support efficient clinic flow through collaboration with providers and staff
• Deliver patient centered care with a strong focus on service excellence
• Multitask effectively including thinking, conversing, and typing simultaneously
• Demonstrate strong telephone communication and interpersonal skills
• Prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision
• Collaborate successfully as part of a multidisciplinary care team
Education and Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse program
• Current nursing license in the state of Iowa
• Three years of clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred
• Experience in acute care or home health nursing for cardiac or diabetic patients preferred
• Prior experience with phone triage, emergency room triage, physician office triage, or combined adult and pediatric care preferred
• Current American Heart Association Heart Code BLS certification required or obtained within three months of hire
• Strong nursing process skills and patient service orientation
• Positive, enthusiastic, and team oriented approach
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills with comfort using Windows operating systems
• Membership in a professional nursing organization or specialty certification highly desired
