Pay Rate: $64.27 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 4x10 Hour Shifts (Days Rotate Weekly)

We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations in Asheville, NC. This role offers a consistent 4-day workweek with extended daytime shifts and focuses on clinical dispensing, patient counseling, medication safety, and pharmacy operations within a fast-paced environment.
Role Overview
The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of prescription medications while providing high-quality patient care and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and clinical standards. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage both operational and patient-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Patient Care

Accept and dispense prescription medications in accordance with legal, regulatory, and clinical guidelines.

Monitor patient medication adherence and identify potential overuse or safety concerns.

Ensure medications prescribed are appropriate, safe, and clinically suitable for patients.

Provide patient counseling on medications, including dosage, administration, side effects, and drug interactions.

Respond to patient inquiries regarding prescription and non-prescription medications.
Pharmacy Operations

Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.

Ensure proper management of pharmacy files, documentation, and workflow systems.

Support accuracy in prescription processing and medication dispensing.

Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
Clinical Collaboration

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns.

Identify and communicate drug-related problems or clinical concerns to appropriate healthcare providers.

Support interdisciplinary care coordination to optimize patient outcomes.
Compounding & Technical Duties
-
Compound medications for internal and external use as required.

Prepare sterile solutions following established procedures and safety standards.

Ensure adherence to all compounding and sterility guidelines.
Supervision & Support

Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, and support staff as needed.

Maintain efficient workflow in a high-volume pharmacy environment.

Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.

Provide preventative care services such as smoking cessation counseling and basic health screenings.
Required Qualifications

Active Pharmacist license in good standing (North Carolina licensure required or ability to obtain)

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree required

Strong knowledge of prescription dispensing, medication safety, and pharmacy regulations

Ability to work 10-hour shifts in a rotating weekly schedule

Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in sterile compounding and/or IV preparation

Prior experience in retail, hospital, or specialty pharmacy environments

Experience supervising pharmacy support staff
