Job Title: Correctional Registered Nurse

Pay: $50-$56 an hr | Bi-weekly

Job Type: Onsite in Coal Township, PA 17866

Shift Options:

• 2nd shift – 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM, two weekends on and one weekend off.

Correctional Registered Nurse Overview:

• Provide nursing care and treatment for inmates and other detainees in correctional institutions throughout the State.
• Perform as a charge nurse, staff nurse, or assessment coordinator offering care for individuals with various health needs.
• Direct and coordinate nursing care and treatment services in a Commonwealth facility.
• Assess and make decisions regarding staff utilization and supplies needed.
• Supervise paraprofessional and non-professional nursing direct care personnel.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Ensure documentation compliance with federal and state regulations.

Correctional Registered Nurse Qualifications:

• Must possess a current license as a registered nurse or a temporary practice permit issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• Proficient in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office products.
• Available for a temporary assignment up to 6 months.
• Ability to perform nursing procedures including airway insertion, first aid, catheter insertion, and IV therapy.
• Competence in nursing protocols, documentation, and medication administration.
• Independent judgment in applying professional nursing practices.
• Strong communication skills to engage with family and interdisciplinary teams.
