Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Muncy, PA 17756, United States
Shift: 1st and 2nd shifts as needed (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM), PRN up to 5 days per week
Duration: Ongoing with potential for long-term placement
A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Muncy, PA. Position Overview:
As a Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform general nursing care and clinical duties, including assessing inmate health, administering medications, and assisting with daily living activities. You will be expected to work regular shifts and be available for overtime as needed.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive pay at $40.00/hour.
- PRN shifts available up to 5 days per week.
- Ongoing contract with potential to extend or become permanent based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general nursing care and clinical duties within the scope of your training and licensure.
- Report to work regularly and perform duties for the entire shift.
- Assist with medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and daily living activities.
- Interact with inmates to resolve health-related conflicts and supervise medical tasks.
- Perform emergency care, including first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Assist in preparing medical incident reports for injuries or sudden illnesses.
- Adhere to infection control procedures and maintain proper hygiene and safety standards.
- Complete documentation and assist with inventorying medical supplies.
Qualifications:
- Current Pennsylvania LPN License or eligibility to sit for the Practical Nurse Licensure Examination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
- High School Diploma
- Mandatory attendance for the first 90 days
- Ability to perform direct patient care, including lifting and repositioning inmates.
- Must be able to navigate stairways and confined spaces within the facility.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a correctional or healthcare setting is a plus.
- Ability to assist with sterilizing supplies and administering certain medical examinations.
