Job Title: Correction Psychologist

Hours: Part-time (24-32 hours per week)
Pay: $63.00 -$65.00 per hour
Scheduled Pay: Bi-Weekly

Psychologist Duties
- Provides psychological services to patients, residents, consumers, students or inmates, provides advice & consultation on psychological matters or does all of preceding and acts as lead worker over lower-level psychological services staff.
- Conducts individual group counseling and
- Follows up on treatment and writes progress reports; conducts psychological evaluations and court order forensic evaluations
- Diffuses / de-escalates issues and role models positive behaviors
- Conducts ongoing assessments of inmates at all times to identify, prevent or contain any significant lethality risks amongst inmates for imminent harm to self or others
- Provide psychological services to offenders under Adult Parole Authority oversight
- Coordinates services between institution mental health services & local community mental health service providers
- Completes re-entry accountability plans & conducts home visits to adult parole authority offenders with adult parole authority field officers; provides specialized sex offender therapies such as aggression control, coping with neurological disorders, and victim empathy.
- provides psychological treatment to inmates in form of psycho-educational classes and time limited group psychotherapy.
- Evaluates defendant / patient for mental status, evaluates competence to stand trial or sanity at time of offense and writes comprehensive forensic report and recommendation for courts
- Responds to subpoenas & app ears in court as expert witness on forensic / psychological matters
- Testifies in court regarding placement, guardianship, risk assessment or competency to stand trial
- Writes discharge summaries or behavioral recommendations when transitioning individuals out of institution, prepares statistical reports & graphs summarizing behavioral progress and use of various interventions / treatments
- Acts as liaison for offenders with treatment team, rules infraction boards, parole boards and unit management staff; reviews multiple charts, conducts interviews, writes risk assessment reports & treatment summaries.
- Serves as advisor on psychological matters for psychological unit, for other division departments for community groups & organizations.
- Prepares materials for participates in staff development and in-service training programs.
- Attends meetings, conferences & seminars, serves on chairs facility-wide committees and represents psychological unit
- Acts as consultant with regional parole staff, juvenile parole officers, social workers, mental health professionals, community mental health professionals, families and case managers.
Job Requirements
Psychologist Requirements
- Active Unencumbered Ohio state Psychologist license
- 3 months experience working as a Licensed Psychologist
