Job Title: Corrections Registered Nurse
Location: Grafton, OH
Shift: 2nd Shift (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) | Sun/Mon off, working Tue-Sat

Compensation: $34.50 per hour

A-Line Staffing is hiring Corrections Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide care at a correctional facility in Grafton, OH. This role offers a competitive pay rate and the opportunity to make an impact while working with a dedicated healthcare team in a secure environment.

Job Duties:

• Provide professional nursing care to inmates, juvenile offenders, or individuals housed in state-operated correctional facilities.
• Observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients in a clinic or infirmary setting.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and immunizations as ordered by physicians.
• Monitor patients in restraints and provide timely medical attention to emergencies (e.g., administer first aid, arrange transportation, contact staff physicians as necessary).
• Perform nursing rounds and take vital signs, ensuring accuracy and thorough documentation.
• Assist physicians in diagnostic evaluations and procedures.
• Respond to medical emergencies, including CPR and other first aid measures.
• Organize and lead the 'code blue' team in emergency situations, ensuring coordinated responses.
• Perform specialized procedures, including IV therapy, wound care, and other necessary treatments.
• Administer medication, including narcotics, and maintain an accurate inventory of controlled substances.
• Maintain all required reports and documentation, including incident reports, Medicaid documentation, and inventory logs.
• Participate in staff training, development, and orientation.
• Serve as a liaison with other departments and assist in scheduling medical appointments and consultations.
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Ohio.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Ability to pass a background check, security clearance, and drug screening.
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing procedures and state/federal regulations.
• Experience working in a correctional or secure healthcare environment preferred.
• Ability to handle emergency situations with composure and professionalism.
• Good physical fitness to handle demands of the role, including walking and responding to emergencies.

Additional Requirements:

• Must clear a metal detector and follow security guidelines.
• No cell phones, tobacco, or vapes permitted during work hours.
• Food and drink must be in clear, see-through containers, and no more than 1 gallon of water is allowed into the facility.
