Credentialing Specialist Compensation
• The pay for this position is $34/hr
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Credentialing Specialist Highlights
• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• The required availability for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM
Credentialing Specialist Responsibilities
• Enforce regulatory compliance and quality assurance standards for credentialing activities
• Prepare and maintain reports for accreditation, membership, and facility privileges
• Ensure that all information meets legal, federal, and state guidelines during the application processing
• Process initial and reappointment applications for physicians and allied health practitioners (approximately 125-200 quarterly)
• Collect, verify, and process large volumes of accreditation and verification information
• Maintain and update accurate provider information in the Echo database (including education, training, experience, and licensure)
• Prepare materials for Credentials Committee meetings, MEC, and Board of Trustees meetings
• Set up and maintain provider information in Echo and the online credentialing database
• Track license and certification expirations for all providers
• Maintain confidentiality of provider information
• Schedule and occasionally attend site-based medical staff department meetings and take minutes
• Process and collect dues for site-based medical staff
• Compile and maintain current and accurate data for all providers
• Perform other duties as assigned
Credentialing Specialist Requirements
• Knowledge of the credentialing process is required
• Ability to organize, prioritize work, and manage multiple priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to research and analyze data independently
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Excellent computer skills
• High School Diploma or GED
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Credentialing Specialist Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with provider credentialing (not insurance credentialing)
