- Screens, diagnoses and treats or provides professional consultations for patients with disorders of speech, language, cognition, and/or swallowing.
- Collaborates with the patient care team including physicians, surgeons, nurses, and case managers.
- Ensures all patients' functional needs are addressed for safe discharge.
- Operates various medical equipment including computer, telephone, and vitalstim devices.
- Handles essential physical demands like standing, walking, and reaching.
- Working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to body fluids and potential communicable diseases.
- Requires current Hawaii State license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certification in CPR at BLS/HCP level required.
- Must complete Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow course within six months.
- Current American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification.
- Minimum of one year experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in acute care preferred.
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
