A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Deaf and Nontraditional Communication Support Professional in Harrisburg, PA 17120.
This role is with a highly regarded state agency and offers the opportunity to support individuals with unique communication needs. This would be full time / 40 hours per week.

Deaf and Nontraditional Communication Support Professional Compensation
• The pay for this position is $45 per hour
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Deaf and Nontraditional Communication Support Professional Highlights
• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• The required availability for this position is 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday (30-minute lunch)
• Primarily remote work with at least 1 in-office day per month required; additional days may be requested by the agency
• Remote onboarding is available
Deaf and Nontraditional Communication Support Professional Responsibilities
• Support individuals who use nontraditional communication methods including ASL, tactile sign language, and visual gestural communication
• Assist in the assessment of statewide needs related to communication support
• Collaborate with various PA agencies to expand interpreter and assistive technology access
• Develop training materials and present to providers and support coordinators
• Recruit and grow a provider network for individuals with specialized communication needs
• Monitor the implementation of communication supports and individual choice
• Address complaints and concerns related to communication accommodations
• Work closely with participants and support teams to create accessible environments
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Deaf and Nontraditional Communication Support Professional Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or a related field
• 2+ years of experience working with individuals using sign or nontraditional communication methods
• 1+ year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Fluency in American Sign Language at Survival Level required; Intermediate Plus level preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Any relevant combination of education and experience may be considered
• High School Diploma or GED
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Deaf and Nontraditional Communication Support Professional Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in developing training content or statewide support programs
• Experience with Pennsylvania’s home and community-based services
