Dental Hygienist Compensation

· The pay for this position is $38 - $45 per hour based on experience. ($1500-$1800 weekly)

· Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment

· A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Dental Hygienist Highlights

· Shift Type: Varied

· Five 8 hr days typical - MAY be able to accommodate Four 10's – 40 hour guarantee

· Weekend Requirements: May be working Saturdays.

· On Call Requirements: None

· Must be comfortable with full-cycle care delivery: Seating to X-Rays to Cleaning Operatory

· Must be comfortable working with diverse patient populations (fully insured, uninsured, physical/mental limitations, etc)

Dental Hygienist Responsibilities

· Work with administrative staff/front desk staff to schedule hygiene patients with efficiency.

· Accurately chart each patients periodontal health.

· Counsel patients on oral health, including the role of nutrition.

· Check on patient comfort during treatment and help allay patient anxiety.

· Apply cavity-preventative agents, such as fluorides and sealants.

· Perform thorough and gentle prophylaxis to patients.

· Accurately and appropriately record provided treatment.

· Take radiographs for patients as prescribed by dentist.

· Administer local anesthetics, if allowed by dental practice act.

· Perform scaling, root planning and selective polishing or patients as appropriate.

· Review patient health and dental history forms and update as necessary.

· Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures.

· Counsel patients in Tobacco Cessation.

· Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with office policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirements, such as the HIPAA privacy and security regulations.

Dental Hygienist Requirements

· High School Diploma or GED

· Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days

· Minimum 2 years current experience -required

· Michigan Dental Hygiene license- required

· Associate degree in Dental Hygiene - required

· Experience with Cavitron and Dentrix EMR -Required

· BLS (AHA)

Dental Hygienist Preferred Qualifications

· Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred

· Previous Travel - HIGHLY PREFERRED
