Dietitian Compensation
- Pay: $27 per hour
- Benefits available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Dietitian Highlights
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
- This position is a contract assignment with the potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
Dietitian Responsibilities
- Provide professional guidance in the coordination, inspection, and evaluation of therapeutic diet programs while adhering to HIPAA standards
- Record and maintain dietary assessments and reassessments, documenting progress notes in medical records per established standards
- Maintain communication with nursing personnel regarding residents with tube feedings, diabetes, weight concerns, or other nutritional issues
- Plan and modify standard and therapeutic diet menus per physician prescriptions and nutritional standards
- Develop and review nutritional care plans, ensuring proper implementation
- Provide special instructions to food service workers and oversee preparation of special diet items
- Write discharge plans and provide resident instructions for therapeutic diets prior to discharge
- Attend interdisciplinary care plan meetings and consult with medical professionals as needed
- Offer in-service training to dietary and healthcare personnel in nutrition-related areas
Dietitian Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from a U.S.-accredited college or university (or foreign equivalent)
- Completion of a supervised practice program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE)
- Successfully passed the Registration Examination for Dietitians and maintained compliance with Professional Development Portfolio (PDP) recertification requirements
- Current Dietitian license in the state of Pennsylvania
- Clinical nutrition experience recommended
- Knowledge of therapeutic diet programs, food service safety, and sanitation standards
