Director, Corporate Banking – Insurance Team Compensation
The pay for this position is $250,000 annually + annual bonus
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
A 401(k) with a company match is available
Position Summary
The Director will join the Corporate Banking – Global Financial Institutions Group – Insurance Team, operating within a global platform with strong leadership across North America and Europe. This role blends Portfolio Management and Relationship Management responsibilities, focusing on credit underwriting, structuring, risk adjudication, and client-facing origination and cross-selling.
The team supports corporate lending transactions and partners closely with capital markets and product teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions to insurance clients across Life, Non-Life, and Distribution sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with insurance sector clients, driving new business origination
- Execute credit underwriting, deal structuring, and risk assessment for lending transactions
- Manage a diversified portfolio of insurance clients across multiple geographies
- Identify cross-sell opportunities across lending, trade finance, cash management, and capital markets products
- Lead client presentations and deliver pitch books outlining financial solutions
- Conduct due diligence, including financial modeling, industry analysis, and regulatory review
- Prepare credit documentation including applications, memoranda, and internal presentations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver integrated client solutions
- Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and client performance to inform strategy
- Evaluate risk-return tradeoffs and ensure alignment with the bank’s risk appetite
- Act as a key contributor on deal teams to maximize sector penetration and profitability
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of Corporate Banking experience covering the insurance sector
- Proven experience structuring and negotiating lending transactions with strong cross-sell track record
- Deep knowledge of lending, portfolio management, and financial products/services
- Strong analytical and financial modeling expertise
- Experience with financial systems, databases, and reporting tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting (high academic achievement preferred)
- MBA, CFA, or equivalent experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to manage ambiguity and operate in complex environments
- Demonstrated collaboration and stakeholder management skills
