Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement Job Description:

The Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement, reporting to the Vice President & Chief Advancement Officer, is responsible for executing and managing the Parkland Health Foundation’s comprehensive annual giving and engagement program. This includes oversight of leadership giving, grateful patient programs, donor engagement events, and stewardship strategies—all aimed at expanding the donor base and positioning the Foundation as the philanthropy of choice. The Director will lead a cross-functional team, manage a portfolio of major donors, and drive strategic alignment across the system to support growth and impact.


Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement Schedule & Location:

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday

  • Shift Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Hours per Day: 8

  • Shift Type: Days

  • Location: Onsite – Dallas, TX 75235 (United States)


Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement Salary/Wage:

  • $61.06 – $103.85 per hour


Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement Responsibilities:

• Develops and grows a multi-channel annual giving program including direct response, leadership annual giving, employee giving, and grateful patient initiatives
• Oversees a best-in-class stewardship program to showcase donor impact and enhance engagement
• Leads high-caliber donor and stewardship events to strengthen relationships with supporters
• Provides strategic direction and leadership to the annual giving and engagement team
• Ensures accurate tracking and documentation in the Foundation's CRM; drives execution of moves management processes
• Sets and monitors performance metrics, priorities, and budgets for annual giving and donor engagement goals
• Manages a personal portfolio of major gift donors and prospects
• Aligns departmental goals with system-wide engagement strategies to build a strong philanthropic community
• Evaluates and executes annual budgets, plans, and performance reviews to ensure departmental success


Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement Job Accountabilities:

• Identifies and refines job designs, workflows, and processes for improved efficiency and department impact
• Remains current on trends and advancements in philanthropy through workshops, reading, and professional development
• Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, internal controls, and industry standards
• Develops and manages department budgets and long-term strategic goals
• Oversees team development including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
• Ensures professional growth opportunities for all assigned staff members


Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement Required Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years of fundraising experience, with at least 5 years in annual giving or donor engagement
Bachelor’s degree required (equivalent experience may be considered)
• Experience leading recruitment, training, and mentoring in complex/hybrid environments (preferred)
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge or a comparable CRM system (preferred)
• Healthcare philanthropy background (preferred)


Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement Skills & Abilities:

• Proven leadership and team management skills with a record of achieving results
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Deep knowledge of donor acquisition, stewardship, and mid-level giving strategies
• Ability to develop relationships at all organizational levels and within the community
• Strategic thinker with project ownership capabilities and minimal supervision required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Budget management experience and the ability to handle confidential materials with discretion


Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (required)
• Equivalent education and experience considered
