Dispensing Pharmacist – Job Highlights:

• Pay Rate: $130,728 estimated salary (paid hourly at $62.85 per hour)
• Location: Alexandria, LA
• Work Setting: Onsite – Long-Term Care Closed-Door Pharmacy
• Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8 hours per day between 8am and 6pm with a 1 hour lunch break.
  • Might rotate Saturdays based on business needs, Sat hours are 9am-3pm

Job Purpose and Summary: As a Dispensing Pharmacist, you’ll be working in a high-energy, LTC pharmacy environment to ensure safe, timely, and compliant medication dispensing. You will play a key role in managing pharmacy operations, supervising technicians, and maintaining regulatory and clinical standards. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with excellent workflow prioritization and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute daily pharmacy operations tied to production quotas and delivery deadlines
• Verify the accuracy of all prescriptions and packaging
• Supervise pharmacy production staff and ensure workflow security
• Ensure compliance with state/federal pharmacy regulations, DEA, and internal SOPs
• Perform prospective drug utilization reviews and monitor for adverse effects/interactions
• Supervise or prepare sterile IV drug products (per USP 797/795)
• Maintain proper handling and inventory of controlled substances
• Ensure readiness and accuracy of emergency kits (eKits and Omnicells)
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide weekend/holiday coverage as needed
• Maintain documentation and reporting for recalls, occurrences, and compliance checks

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (BSPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Louisiana
• 1–3 years of professional pharmacist experience
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy experience
• Immunization certified or willing to become certified
• Strong time management and organizational skills
