 EEG Technician RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Primary Function Responsible for administering electroencephalographic (EEG) recordings.
  • Perform EEG testing including routine EEG exams, sleep and cerebral silence readings. Perform measurement to ensure accurate electrode placement. Perform quality assurance monitoring.
  • Recognize the effects of certain diseases and medications on wave form variability. Recognize and respond to seizure episodes.
  • Maintain clean equipment and perform minor repairs. Maintain and order supplies as necessary to perform job.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Vocational/technical training and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
  • Medical Terminology

  EEG Technician PLANNING & DECISION MAKING
  • Effectively prioritizes own work in order to complete job responsibilities. Displays ability to adjust priorities based upon understanding of policies and procedures.
  • Completes job responsibilities within required timeframe, according to established schedules or workflow requirements.
  • Uses proper judgment and knowledge of established practices and procedures when addressing problems or issues.
  • Review and assesses information before making decisions and solving problems.

EEG Technician PATIENT RELATIONS
  • Provides appropriate information or instructions to patient’ s family and visitors.
  • Provides safe, appropriate care to patients according to established Hospital policies and procedures and/or designated plan of care.
  • Explains procedures to patient and provides assistance when necessary.
  • Communicates pertinent information regarding patient’ s progress and needs to appropriate hospital staff.
  • Monitors patient’ s condition to alleviate complications.
  • Acts as a patient advocate, safeguarding the rights and confidentiality of patients at all times.
  • Assesses, treats and cares for patients in a manner appropriates to the age of the patient.
