Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for various aspects of the design, development, test, and manufacturing of our pharmacy automation equipment. The focus of this role will be to maintain a product design that supports the Product Operations group and ensures consistent part sourcing at an acceptable cost point. This position may require the individual to participate in both new product development, as well as, sustaining activities with manufacturing teams, for our existing product fleet. Strong attention to detail, adaptability, communication, and a willingness to work in a collaborative team environment are skills that will support a high level of success in this position.

Key Responsibilities
• Work with procurement team to identify replacement components which have gone end of life or have drastically increased in part costing. Update and release design files to accommodate the new components.
• Design sheet metal, plastic, and machined parts and assemblies for use in automation equipment.
• Analyze and test the design of parts and assemblies to ensure that they meet design specifications, cost goals, and manufacturability requirements.
• Contribute to a multidisciplinary research and development team to conceptualize innovative new systems related to pharmaceutical automation.
• Work closely with in-house engineers and technicians, plus outside vendors, to develop cost-effective mechanical prototypes that also support electrical and software subsystems.
• Document part and system designs for sourcing, inspection, and internal use.
Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
• 2+ years of related work experience
• Previous classroom and/or work experience with solid modeling and analysis tools, SolidWorks experience preferred
• Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across a variety of departments
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Quality Document Systems Management is responsible for the development, deployment and maintenance of controlled documentation and supporting systems. Typically is vocationally qualified with limited work experience.
Assist and support Team Center implementation.
Develops knowledge and skills in basic practices and procedures within own area. Applies basic technical skills and knowledge to complete assigned work. Works on straightforward tasks using established procedures; work is subject to review by others. Depends on others for instruction, guidance and direction.

Previous Document Control experience required
Excel experience preferred.
Microsoft Word experience preferred
Learns new systems quickly
