Registered Nurse (RN) - Case Management (Onsite)
A-Line Staffing Solutions is hiring multiple Registered Nurse Case Managers for an exciting opportunity to support the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) mission of serving veterans and their families with dignity and compassion. This position involves performing key administrative duties for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Community Care and Referral Coordination Team. The role will be based at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO, as well as the Glendale, CO office location.

Required Availability: Monday-Friday; 8-hour shift between 7am-5:30pm Mountain Time
Compensation & Benefits: Estimated $45.00-$52.00 per hour, paid WEEKLY

- 10 days of PTO (80 hours)
- 7 sick days (56 hours)

Key Responsibilities:
- The RN assigned to these areas provide direct and indirect nursing care, by contributing to the patient’s assessment, determining priorities, identifying nursing measures and therapeutic objectives and evaluating outcomes.
- The position requires independent judgment and nursing actions, flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to utilize an interdisciplinary approach in the provision of nursing care.
- Office of Community Care (OCC) Registered Nurses:
- Clinically review consults/requests for completeness and appropriateness/utilization review.
- Dispositioning care in the community per utilization review and guidelines.
- Clinical review of incoming medical records documenting communication with ordering providers and PCP.
- Coordination of care- corresponding with veteran, community providers, internal providers/nurses, and admin staff to ensure the care and authorization for care requested is processed.
- Referral Coordination Team (RTC) Registered Nurses:
- Triage specialty consults for clinical appropriateness & completeness within the National RCI Standards for coordinated care.
- Communicate with veterans on their health care options via phone calls to determine receiving care at VA facility or through the community eligible providers so the veterans can make informed decisions on how/when/where to receive specialty care if they are eligible for CC.
- Provide clinical knowledge to the veterans and act as a clinical resource to multidisciplinary staff (MDs, LIPs, SW, HAS, etc.) within our VISN19 and outside the VISN.
- Collaborate with CACs to rebuild/modify consult templates.
- Serve as a liaison to both internal staff and CC staff during the consult process.
- Serves as liaison to the ordering provider and specialty care services RCI is implemented into.
- Serves as Delegation of Authority by building trusting relationships with the Specialty providers in the clinics RCI is implemented into based on vetted RCT Specialty Triage Tools with the VA specialty providers we collaborate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of two (2) years direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institution.
- Active, current, full and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Colorado or Compact license.
- Active BLS (AHA) certification.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Basic computer skills, including typing.
