Equipment Maintenance Technician | Details and Compensation:

• Location: Sumter, SC 29153 – 100% on-site
• Payrate: $21/hr
• Required Availability:
• Day Shift 8am-8pm
• 3rd Shift 12am - 8am, Sunday-Thursday

Equipment Maintenance Technician | Summary and Highlights:

The Equipment Maintenance Tech will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on experience with various mechanical components and the ability to conduct quality inspections in compliance with defined specifications.

• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance

Equipment Maintenance Technician | Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Utilize measurement tools such as feeler gauges to assess tolerances, torque, and clearances.
• Work with cams, cam-followers, rod-ends, bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, vacuum systems, pneumatic systems, and ball valves.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds as required.
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
• Work in a team environment and adapt to different tasks as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

• Candidates must have the following qualifications to be considered:
• Mechanical troubleshooting and hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with measurement tools such as feeler gauges for assessing tolerances, torque, and clearances.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems, including cams, chain drives, conveyors, and gearboxes.
• Experience with vacuum and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting.
• Physical capability to handle required lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling loads.

Equipment Maintenance Technician | Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (Verifiable).
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret specifications in English.
• Experience using basic measurement tools and microscopes.
• Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.

Physical Demands:

• Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds as required.
