Equipment Maintenance Technician | Details and Compensation:
- Location: Sumter, SC 29153 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $21/hr
- Required Availability:
- Day Shift 8am-8pm
- 3rd Shift 12am - 8am, Sunday-Thursday
Equipment Maintenance Technician | Summary and Highlights:
The Equipment Maintenance Tech will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on experience with various mechanical components and the ability to conduct quality inspections in compliance with defined specifications.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs

Equipment Maintenance Technician | Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Utilize measurement tools such as feeler gauges to assess tolerances, torque, and clearances.
- Work with cams, cam-followers, rod-ends, bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, vacuum systems, pneumatic systems, and ball valves.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds as required.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
- Work in a team environment and adapt to different tasks as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

- Candidates must have the following qualifications to be considered:
- Mechanical troubleshooting and hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency with measurement tools such as feeler gauges for assessing tolerances, torque, and clearances.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, including cams, chain drives, conveyors, and gearboxes.
- Experience with vacuum and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting.
- Physical capability to handle required lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling loads.
Equipment Maintenance Technician | Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (Verifiable).
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret specifications in English.
- Experience using basic measurement tools and microscopes.
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
Physical Demands:
- Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds as required.
