EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:
- Location: Sumter SC 29153 – 100% on-site
- Payrate: $23.50/hr
- Required Availability: Full-Time | Sunday – Thursday, Midnight – 8am (3rd shift)
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:
The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and keep production running efficiently. The Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, machine setup, equipment adjustments, and mechanical repairs while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The position also supports production operations by diagnosing equipment issues and improving machine performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN | RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns and mechanical issues
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment
- Set up, operate, optimize, and maintain manufacturing machinery
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine root causes
- Adjust, clean, and repair machines to maintain production standards
- Maintain accurate downtime and maintenance logs
- Support machine changeovers and equipment setup
- Monitor machine performance and address waste or efficiency issues
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards at all times
- Assist with major repairs and support upstream/downstream operations
- Maintain a clean and organized production environment
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN | REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (verifiable)
- Attendance: Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience required
- Experience with gearboxes, conveyors, chain drives, pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, and related mechanical components
- Knowledge of feeler gauges and tools used to measure tolerances and clearances
- Ability to read machine blueprints and follow technical instructions
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, automotive repair, HVAC, machining, or similar mechanical fields
- High-speed manufacturing experience is a plus
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement
- Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment
