Title: Field Service Technician
Rate: $19.28/hr
Location: Miami, FL / Fort Lauderdale, FL (Offsite)
Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8:00AM – 5:00PM EST; weekend or evening on-call availability may be required
Note: This is a W2 contract position – C2C, 1099, and 3rd party candidates WILL NOT be considered
The primary responsibilities for the Field Service Technician include providing great customer service while installing, diagnosing, and resolving retail equipment failures within service level agreements at locations in a service geography. This equipment includes POS (Point of Sale) registers, self-checkout registers, thermal printers, laser printers, scanners, servers, PCs, thin clients, phone systems, RF, networking equipment, pharmacy, minute clinic, photo, and other related computer peripherals. The Field Service Technician position involves driving between locations in a large geography to service and install hardware, assisting other neighboring areas with workload, working normal day shift, and assisting on-call for weekday evenings onsite high severity service calls.
Field Service Technicians must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to drive themselves between several locations on a daily basis; drive times may be several hours in each direction. The Field Service Technician will be reimbursed for miles driven on their weekly expense report at 72¢ per mile driven. The Field Service Technician will work 40 hours per week, and their shift may include weekends or holidays, as required.
Job Duties:
· Service and install computer equipment by analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving problems while providing excellent customer service and meeting service level commitments
· Adhere to all compliance processes and procedures
· Self-manage workload, overtime, inventory, and all administrative functions
· Maintain up to date knowledge of all technology, processes, policies, and procedures
Job Qualifications:
· 1-3 years of previous hands-on technical knowledge and experience
· Strong customer service skills, strong attentional to detail, and ability to multitask
· Ability to troubleshoot hardware, lift printers, servers, and equipment to 75 pounds, and occasionally work on a ladder
· A valid Driver’s License, with no major violations, and a reliable, personal vehicle to drive between work sites
· Administrative computer skills, including MS Word and Excel, preferred
· A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required; higher education or relevant IT Certifications (CompTIA A+ or Network+) preferred
This job requires driving your personal vehicle between work sites; an MVR background check and a substance/drug test will be conducted upon extension of a job offer
