Title: Field Service Technician

Rate: $24.97/hr

Location: Medford, OR / Eugene, OR / Centralia, WA (Offsite)

Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8:00AM – 4:30PM PST; weekend or evening/holiday on-call availability may be required, based on business need

Note: This is a W2 contract position, and it is NOT open to C2C or 3rd party candidates

The Field Service Technician will assist in running service calls and installing computer and printer hardware in retail stores in the Medford, OR / Eugene, OR / Centralia, WA area; a permanent FTS employee will provide direction and support on a daily basis. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for repairing, staging, configuring, and providing QA to IT hardware for stores, as well as refurbishing and QA’ing returned store hardware equipment.

Ideal candidates for this role must have previous hardware repair experience, the ability to work on their own, constantly walk and stand, constantly lift 30lbs, and occasionally up to 80lbs with assistance, work flexible hours, complete required paper work, and have excellent customer service skills.

Field Service Technicians must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to drive themselves between several locations on a daily basis; drive times may be several hours in each direction. The Field Service Technician will be reimbursed for miles driven on their weekly expense report at the standard client reimbursement rate. The Field Service Technician will work 40 hours per week, and their shift may include weekends or holidays as part of normal work days.

Job Duties:

  • Administer asset tracking and provide staging, configuration, and bench repairs of specific retail store hardware
  • Process all applicable warranty claims and accurately record all production details and inventory movements
  • Refurbish and QA returned store hardware equipment

Job Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of hands-on technical knowledge and experience, along with strong customer service skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and deploy computer hardware and peripherals, POS systems, and networking and printer equipment, including lifting and moving laser printers, servers, and other heavy equipment up to 30lbs, and 80lbs with assistance, and occasionally working on a ladder
  • A valid Driver’s License, with no major violations, and a reliable, personal vehicle to drive between work sites
  • Strong attentional to detail and ability to multitask
  • Administrative computer skills, including MS Word and Excel, preferred
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required; higher education or relevant IT Certifications (CompTIA A+ or Network+) preferred

This job requires driving your personal vehicle between work sites; a MVR background check will be conducted upon extension of a job offer
