Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

Location: Canaan, CT 06018

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Work Type: Onsite

Assignment Dates: July 2026 – July 2027

Assignment Type: Temporary assignment with the opportunity for extension or conversion to a permanent position based on business needs and your performance in the role.

Position Overview:
The 171513 Operator 1, Warehouse Operations is responsible for safely moving materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods throughout the warehouse using material handling equipment, including forklifts. This position supports shipping and receiving operations while ensuring accuracy, productivity, and compliance with standard operating procedures and quality standards. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven warehouse environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
  • Load trailers for outbound shipments.
  • Move trailers in and out of the shipping dock area.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving operations.
  • Operate floor stretch wrapping equipment.
  • Maintain inventory movement records as needed.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
  • Perform routine warehouse tasks while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and operational standards.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 0–1 year of warehouse, logistics, shipping, receiving, or related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required licenses, certifications, or training.
  • General computer skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read, write, interpret, and understand documents written in English.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a metrics-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous forklift operating experience.
  • Shipping and receiving experience.
  • Experience moving trailers within a warehouse or shipping yard.
  • Semi-truck or trailer movement experience is a plus.
  • Experience operating warehouse material handling equipment.

Training Provided:

  • Forklift training is available for qualified candidates.
  • Training will also be provided on required warehouse equipment, including the floor stretch wrapper.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, balancing, climbing, and twisting.
  • Frequent repetitive use of hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing more than 20 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in an active warehouse environment for extended periods.

What You Should Know Before Applying:

  • This is a fully onsite warehouse position located in Canaan, Connecticut.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
  • Forklift experience is preferred but not required, as training is available.
  • Candidates should be comfortable performing physical warehouse work throughout the shift.
  • This position requires adherence to safety standards, quality guidelines, and warehouse operating procedures.
  • The assignment offers the opportunity to be extended or converted to a permanent position based on business needs and performance.
