IT Security Manager
Location: Detroit -  Hybrid
Rate: 50-55/hr on w-2

Job Description:

  • Lead efforts to foster collaboration among project team members involved in internal information security functions.
  • Advocate for and enforce standards and recommendations regarding security measures.
  • Manage operating budgets, identify project controls, prioritize team functions, and provide guidance and oversight of tasks assigned to team members.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of security processes and procedures by the information security team, including managing the risk assessment resolution process.
  • Coordinate security auditing procedures and develop security protection and auditing policies and procedures.
  • Promote awareness of information security throughout the organization.
  • Innovate and develop new methods and procedures for enhancing work processes.
  • Interface with department/business units to identify and coordinate security projects.
  • Supervise staff and make personnel decisions, demonstrating effective decision-making capabilities.
  • Work within operating budgets, identify project controls, and prioritize and direct team functions.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and best practices in IT information security.
  • Interface with all levels of management to negotiate project priorities and outcomes.
  • Effectively translate technical expertise to meet varying organizational needs.
  • Work independently to define, manage, and complete activities.
  • Take proactive measures to resolve customer problems or concerns in a timely manner, exceeding expectations.
  • Maintain clear and open communications with project team members and customers throughout project lifecycles.

 

Top Skills:

  • Profound understanding of Risk and Regulatory requirements within the Financial Services industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multiple organizational levels. Proficient in mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Extensive experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, IT Risk Management, and Information Security, demonstrating the ability to assess and design effective controls.
  • Knowledge and expertise in conducting assessments aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders, with a self-motivated and independent work ethic. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in taking initiative, while also thriving in collaborative environments.
