IV Pharmacist Highlights

• The pay for this position is $58+ per hour
• Schedule Options (please indicate shift preference when applying):
• OVN Shift #1: 8:30pm – 5:00am | Five days/week | Rotating weekends
• OVN Shift #2: Fluctuates between 5:30pm – 2:00am and 8:30pm – 2:00am | Five days/week | Rotating weekends
• This is an onsite position.
• This position is a full-time contract role, with the potential to become permanent based on performance, attendance, and team fit.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and sterile compounding guidelines.
• Maintain IV documentation and monitor infusion patients’ therapy.
• Assess drug appropriateness, allergies, high-risk medications, and potential interactions.
• Perform dose calculations and program infusion pumps accurately.
• Handle drug interaction alerts and adverse safety issues following prescriber/facility protocol.
• Support care coordination across home health agencies, physicians, and nursing facilities.
• Process IV orders during technician unavailability and answer drug related IV inquiries.
• Train and assess competency of rotating pharmacists, IV techs, and infusion pump techs.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of infusion therapies, drugs, and aseptic techniques.
• Participate in on-call duties and attend continuing education as required.

Requirements

• Current Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of North Carolina
• IV/Infusion experience preferred, but not required (you will not be the only Pharmacist on shift)
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or higher required
• Management experience preferred
