Shift: 8a – 4pm (30 min lunch)
Payrate: 46.00 an hour
We are seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist (IP) to join our multidisciplinary Healthcare-associated Infection Prevention/Antimicrobial Stewardship (HAIP/AS) program. The IP will play a critical role in infection prevention and control across a variety of healthcare and community-based settings. This includes traditional healthcare facilities, as well as non-traditional settings such as homeless shelters, congregate living environments, and drug/alcohol treatment centers. The IP will serve as a subject-matter expert and contribute to responding to and preventing healthcare-associated infections, emerging threats, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Infection Preventionist (IP) Qualifications:
- Certification: Must hold a current Infection Control Certification (CIC) Required the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or Microbiology, Laboratory Sciences, or a health/public health-related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in infection prevention and control.
Infection Preventionist (IP) Responsibilities:
- Serve as an infection prevention and control subject-matter expert within the HAIP/AS program.
- Assist in response and prevention efforts related to healthcare-associated infections, emerging threats, and COVID-19.
- Collaborate with a diverse team including epidemiologists, project managers, and infection preventionists.
- Ensure timely completion of program activities and objectives using evidence-based practices.
- Develop and disseminate infection prevention and control educational materials (checklists, toolkits, presentations, guidance documents) through various formats (live webinars, conference calls, etc.).
- Lead, coordinate, and consult on outbreak responses in both traditional and non-traditional healthcare settings.
- Maintain effective communication with emergency response partners and utilize web-based response software and email per protocol.
- Review and analyze NHSN (National Healthcare Safety Network) data for reporting accuracy and summarization.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide verbal and written updates to supervisors.
