LTC Pharmacist Compensation

• The pay for this position is $64.27 per hour.
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates.

LTC Pharmacist Highlights

• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs.
• The required availability for this position is 7 on / 7 off, 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM.

LTC Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications according to legal and ethical standards.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients on medication usage, side effects, storage, dosage, and potential drug interactions.
• Provide patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for external or internal use and prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and clerks.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals.

LTC Pharmacist Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required.
• Licensed by the NY State Board of Pharmacy.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days.

LTC Pharmacist Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supervising pharmacy staff.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, patient care, and medication safety.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
