LTC Pharmacist Compensation
- The pay for this position is $64.27 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
LTC Pharmacist Highlights
- This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
- The required availability for this position is Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM ET
LTC Pharmacist Responsibilities
- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with legal and regulatory standards
- Verify prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files
- Counsel patients on medication use, dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications
- Provide clinical services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications for internal and external use
- Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
- Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacy technicians and clerks (team supported by 3 pharmacy technicians)
- Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Identify patient drug-related problems and communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners
- Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns
LTC Pharmacist Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Active Indiana Pharmacist (RPh) license
- Licensed by the State Board of Pharmacy
- Strong clinical knowledge and patient counseling skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
LTC Pharmacist Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Parata automation systems
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Long-term care at home pharmacy experience
