LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) Compensation
- The pay for this position is $31 per hour
- Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
- A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) Highlights
- The required availability for this position is
- 2p-10p rotating shift w/weekends
- Rotating schedule and work three weekends a month and have 2 days off during the week
- If they cannot do 3 weekends a month, every other weekend is an option.
LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) Responsibilities
- Provides for the care, treatment, and general welfare of individuals residing at the State Supported
- Living Center who have complex medical, mental health and / or behavioral health issues
- Performs basic and advanced routine and non-routine nursing tasks to promote the health of the individuals within the assigned areas and assigned shift
- Collects specimens for lab work and performs health screenings
- Instructs direct support professionals and other staff on how to provide service and care that support the individual's medical needs
- Performs technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations
- Keeps informed of and follows all agency, SSLC and unit / home policies and procedures
- Provides direction and assists with on-the-job training to others such as newly hired LVNs and direct care staff
- Provides on-the-job nursing instruction and training for new LVNs, within their scope of practice, as requested by RN Supervisor
- Monitors, oversees the work of, and assigns work to, LVNs as needed
- Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes and provides input to other members of the healthcare team
- Assists RNs with implementation of protocols, procedures and programs to improve overall health and safety of staff and individuals
- Works under the limited supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
- Each candidate must have at least two years’ experience in nursing in an acute or long-term care setting
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
- Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
