A-Line Staffing is hiring a Lab Support Technician in Columbia, MD to support day-to-day laboratory operations for a major manufacturing organization. This role focuses on maintaining lab cleanliness, cleaning and maintaining glassware and fermenters, and supporting routine lab prep activities while following established SOPs.

Position Title: Lab Support Technician
Location: Columbia, MD 21045 (On-site)
Schedule: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (slightly flexible after training)
Duration: 1-year contract
Pay Rate: $23.00–$25.00/hour (W2)

Key Responsibilities

• Follow processes and direction from the on-site Lab Services Manager.
• Perform cleaning services, including:
  • Glassware cleaning
  • Fermenters (vessel & headplate) cleaning
  • Lab equipment cleaning
  • General lab cleaning and upkeep
• Perform fermenter maintenance, including:
  • Tubing replacement
  • Seal assembly and impeller replacement
  • Pressure relief valve testing and replacement
  • Probe calibration
• Perform glassware maintenance (including tubing replacement as needed).
• Provide support services across the site, including:
  • Lab supply restocking
  • Glassware cleaning support
  • Stock media preparation
  • Stock solution preparation (acid, base, metals, vitamins)
  • Bulk autoclave cycle scheduling support
  • Consumables ordering assistance
  • Other duties as assigned as time allows

Qualifications / Requirements

• 1–2+ years of lab technician or lab support experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours
• Comfortable working in a structured environment and following SOPs
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (MS Office Suite)
• Basic understanding of algebra and proportions

Preferred Skills

• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Ability to work independently while prioritizing lab needs
• Experience supporting fermentation or production lab environments (helpful, not required)
