Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – (Night Shift) Position Overview
Under the direction of the RN Supervisor, the LPN Wing Supervisor is responsible for implementing the medical plan of care while supervising Nursing Assistants to ensure high-quality care for residents and high school students. This role requires a compassionate, hands-on professional who enjoys working closely with residents and making a daily impact on their well-being.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – (Night Shift) Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications, treatments, and monitoring (e.g., glucose checks) and document resident responses
- Accurately transcribe physician orders and maintain electronic records (PCC EHR/EMR)
- Monitor, document, and report changes in resident condition to RN Supervisor
- Update and maintain individualized care plans with measurable goals
- Supervise Nursing Assistants to ensure proper care delivery
- Assist physicians during rounds, exams, and treatments
- Collect and manage lab specimens and documentation
- Coordinate resident transfers and communicate with families and staff
- Complete incident reports and monthly summaries
- Monitor vital signs, weights, and follow up on discrepancies
- Conduct narcotic counts at shift start/end
- Maintain inventory of resident belongings
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Participate in staff training, meetings, and quality assurance activities
- Assist with staff supervision, evaluations, and onboarding
- Provide direct resident care as needed
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – (Night Shift) Qualifications
Required:
- Current Pennsylvania LPN license or temporary work permit (at time of interview)
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles and patient care practices
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Effective communication and observation skills
Preferred:
- Nursing home or long-term care experience
